Eppler Families,

Welcome to 2018! I hope that each of you were able to enjoy your holidays with family and friends as we closed out 2017. I also hope that we all jump into 2018 with both feet and embrace the wonderful opportunities afforded us in Utica Community Schools.

We are proud to recognize the efforts of our students and families through your generous giving during the holiday season. NJHS and Builders Club led the way by sponsoring our United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots drive. Boxes and boxes of toys were donated by our hard-working community for children who would otherwise not have received holiday gifts. Student Council also led the collection of thousands of cans and boxes of non-perishable food items to benefit the Shelby Township Lions Food Basket Program. Thanks to one and all for your generosity!

A few reminders for the month of January:

The life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is celebrated as we honor his memory Monday, January 15. There will be no school on this day.

Our first semester exam schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, January 24:  1st & 2nd Hour Exams
Thursday, January 25:  3rd & 4th Hour Exams
Friday, January 26:  5th & 6th Hour Exams

Please note that exam days are half-days and dismissal will be at 11:12 am each day.

Please encourage your student to put every effort into preparing for the exams. Please also note that exams count as 10% of the semester grade for 7th and 8th grade students, and as 20% of the semester grade for 9th grade students and in any credit bearing class.

I hope that 2018 brings you all that you wish!

Jerry Pantano, Principal

NJHS is continuing to sponsor a recycling fundraiser in partnership with PlanetGreen. They have made a few changes and they are no longer accepting large toner cartridges. Please do not send in the toner cartridges. They do accept:
 Inkjet cartridges
 Cell phones
 MP3
 IPods
 Cameras
 E-readers
 Calculators
 Tablets
 Video games, consoles, accessories
It helps Eppler earn money and it helps the landfills! NJHS students can earn hours for donating items, but anyone can bring these items to room 19. Thank you for your support! Please check out for more information.
